Senior Programs
WSOS Senior Programs provide a variety of services to the seniors. Local senior centers offer meals, informational seminars and various activities. Transportation services are provided to Seniors, the general public, or other organizations through contracts with TRIPS. Over 275 daily nutritional lunches that meet USDA requirements are prepared by WSOS and distributed at Senior Centers as well as transported to homebound seniors. Residents of Sandusky county who care for their sick or elderly loved ones can find support through the Caregiver Support program operated by WSOS's Senior Programs in partnership with community organizations. WSOS Sandusky County Senior Programs is a United Way Agency.

Senior Centers
A variety of nutrition services are available at the senior centers. Lunch is available at the centers. To make reservations please call your local center two days in advance. A donation of $2.50 per meal is requested. Centers are designed to serve senior citizens (ages 60 and up) and their spouses (regardless of age).

Senior Centers offer opportunities to build on your wisdom as a mature American. We schedule activities that are fun and enlightening like: travelogues, nature programs, and nutrition education classes. Information seminars also cover important topics of the day like: social security, Medicare and Medicaid. [read more]

TRIPS
Transportation - Transportation services are provided to Seniors, the general public, or available to other organizations through contracts with TRIPS. TRIPS stands for Transportation Resources for Independent People of Sandusky County. It is a partnership of county government and social service agencies collaborating to provide a rural transit service. It offers transportation Monday through Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. by reservation. Closed holidays. [read more]

Food Service
Food Service - Nutritional lunches that meet USDA requirements are prepared by the WSOS Kitchen located at the Stricker Family Development Center. Food Service prepares over 275 hot lunches for senior citizens per day that are distributed at Senior Centers as well as transported to homebound seniors. In addition, meals and or snacks are prepared by Food Service for children at multiple locations. [read more]

Caregiver Support Program
Residents of Sandusky county who care for their sick and/or elderly loved ones can find support through the Caregiver Support program provided by WSOS Community Action Commission's Senior Programs in partnership with community organizations.
