Comprehensive Housing Counseling

Certified Housing Counselors can provide one-on-one individual counseling, homebuyers education workshops, seminars, or presentations on the following subjects:
  • Making the Decision to purchase
  • Affordability Analysis
  • Downpayment
  • Budgeting
  • Debt
  • Closing Costs
  • Credit
  • Savings
  • Knowing the Key Players
  • Financing
  • Inspection
  • Fair Hosuing
  • Maintenance
  • Hiring a Contractor
  • Default Prevention

    While most participants are educated on all of the above subjects, a specific plan of action is tailored to meet each individual's need if a situation arises which needs more specific intense attention. WSOS Community Action Commission, Inc. has a working partnership with many local lenders to provide seminars and counseling services for their customers. We provide counseling services for participants interested in receiving Downpayment Assistance in Seneca, Sandusky, and Ottawa Counties.

    Participants may also be referred to other programs or agencies, which may be better suited to an individual's needs.
