WSOS provides comprehensive family development, workforce development, education and child care assistance and other support services to families and individuals desiring to obtain basic needs stability, greater independence and self sufficiency.
Staff help families prepare for successful employment opportunities. We help individuals gain and retain employment with benefits, provide follow up services to ensure long term job retention and build community partnerships to support these efforts.
This is addressed through basic needs financial assistance programs, family and workforce development activities including case management, life skills, educational and vocational development and individual counseling.

Homeless Prevention
Brief Overview
WSOS provides family development, employment and training, rental/mortgage assistance, and other supportive services to families/individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless and desire housing stability, greater independence, and self-sufficiency. Staff will support, guide and assist in identifying obstacles to obtaining and maintaining stable housing and creating a step-by-step plan to overcome them.
WSOS is dedicated to helping families/individuals who have a commitment to overcoming their housing crisis and improving their financial state.
Services Provided
Family Development and Case Management including a comprehensive family assessment, creation of a family development plan, information and referral services, and monitoring and follow-up. If needed, participants will receive life skills development. Following are some of the areas that could be addressed: household budgeting, time management, effective communication, problem solving and decision-making, and parenting. Participants will also receive educational and vocational development through some of the following activities: identification of strengths and interests, develop educational and vocational goals, career exploration assistance, job readiness training, job search assistance, and continued support and guidance for working participants.
Who's Eligible?
- Must be income-eligible. Eligibility is determined as being at or below 35% of the County's Median Income.
- At risk of becoming homeless due to eviction/foreclosure or living with family and/or friends.
- Must be willing to make a 3-month commitment to the program.
