WSOS provides comprehensive family development, workforce development, education and child care assistance and other support services to families and individuals desiring to obtain basic needs stability, greater independence and self sufficiency.
Staff help families prepare for successful employment opportunities. We help individuals gain and retain employment with benefits, provide follow up services to ensure long term job retention and build community partnerships to support these efforts.
This is addressed through basic needs financial assistance programs, family and workforce development activities including case management, life skills, educational and vocational development and individual counseling.

Home Energy Assistance Program
Brief Overview
HEAP is the Home Energy Assistance Program designed to assist low-income Ohioans meet the rising cost of home heating during the winter months. WSOS provides assistance with completing the State form or distributing applications to those needing one.
WSOS is dedicated to creating opportunities that will help our community and its members build a better future. Helping individuals and families obtain self-sufficiency not only strengthens their future, but provides stability for their community.
Services Provided
A one-time payment will be made to those households threatened with a utility shut-off, already disconnected or having less than a 10-day fuel supply.
Who's Eligible?
A face-to-face appointment is required and the household income must be at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines.
