Ottawa County Ready to Work Youth Program

Overview


The WSOS Ready to Work Youth Program provides education training, occupational skills development and other assistance to Ottawa County youth and young adults ages 16-24. The program strives to help participants become successful, productive employees. The WSOS Ready to Work Youth Program is funded by Ottawa County Department of Job and Family Services and U.S. Department of Labor Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families funding.

Benefits


Participants are assigned a Career Coach to assist the youth in obtaining the skills needed in today's employment market. Services include:

  • Alternative secondary school services
  • Entrepreneurial skills training
  • GED preparation, tutoring and testing
  • Leadership opportunities 
  • Supportive services
  • Counseling services
  • Skills training
  • Financial literacy
  • Follow-up services


Eligibility Requirements


Must be an Ottawa County youth age 16-24
