Constructing Futures Pre-Apprenticeship

Overview


WSOS is a sub-contractor through The Northwest Ohio Construction Education Center in the operation of the Constructing Futures Pre-Apprenticeship Program which runs for 12 weeks. The program is designed to immerse participating individuals in the “real world construction job” market of today and tomorrow. Participants will learn training that will allow the individual to successfully complete industry recognized certifications and pre-apprenticeship training.

Eligibility Requirements


Participants must meet the criteria for being a dislocated worker/adult under the workforce investment act.

Criteria of being a dislocated worker:
  • Been terminated or laid off or received a notice of termination or layoff; AND
  • Is eligible for or has exhausted unemployment compensation.
OR
  • Has been employed for a duration sufficient to demonstrate attachment to the workforce, but is not eligible for unemployment due to insufficient earnings or having performed services for an employer that were not covered under a state unemployment compensation law; AND
  • Is unlikely to return to a pervious industry or occupation.

Criteria of a adult under the workforce investment act:
  • Meeting income eligibility AND suitability per workforce investment board area 9 or 7 pending residency.

Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Williams, Wood

Income Guidelines


Area 7 includes Lucas county.
Participants must earn less than $18.27 per hour to be income eligible.

Area 9 includes Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Henry, Ottawa, Sandusky, Williams and Wood counties.
Income guidelines are based off monthly income.
