Sandusky County Communities Foundation donates to TRIPS

WSOS/TRIPS public transportation service has purchased a new vehicle through the help of Sandusky County Communities Foundation.

Sandusky County Communities Foundation Executive Director provided a $10,000 donation TRIPS towards the purchasing of a new 2015 LTV vehicle that can seat 13 passengers and has the ability to transport three ambulatory customers at once.

“With Sandusky County Communities Foundation and its Executive Director Cate Knipp’s generosity, TRIPS was able to purchase a vehicle that meets a needed demand for Sandusky County residents,” TRIPS Coordinator Bill Duncan said.

The donation provided the necessary local matching funds towards the vehicle, with 80 percent of the vehicle’s costs provided by Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

TRIPS provides low-cost public transportation for Sandusky County residents and also offers passenger care attendants for riders in need of mobility assistance. For more information or to schedule a ride, visit www.ridetrips.org or call 419-332-8091.
