TRIPS schedules survey during Sandusky County fair

The TRIPS transportation program, operated by WSOS, will conduct a survey during the Sandusky County fair in an effort to gather public input of the transportation needs of the community.

“We want to ensure that the dollars received for this program is used as effectively as possible,” said Robin Richter, WSOS Director of Senior Programs and Transportation.

The survey will be conducted at a TRIPS vehicle that will be parked next to the senior tent on the county fairgrounds. Fair-goers are encouraged to stop by and complete a survey.

This survey will also allow TRIPS staff to update the last transportation plan established in 2008. It will look at the current transportation needs of county residents as well as those of the agencies in the community. The intention is to conduct as comprehensive a survey as possible.

TRIPS operate according to a reservation schedule from 7 a.m. to midnight Monday to Saturday. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance.

The program was started in 1998 as a very modest transportation system among some Sandusky County organizations. Later it expanded when funding from ODOT was secured.
