New program provides free transportation for work or school

A new program at WSOS will assist some Sandusky County residents who need transportation to and from work, a work- related activity, or school between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

This free transportation will be through the WSOS TRIPS transportation and is for eligible residents. To be eligible means that a person must have an income of no more than 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. This means that a single person is eligible only if he or she earns no more than $16,215per year. A person from a family of four can access the free transportation if he/she has income no more than $33,025 annually.

Those who wish to access this program must provide proof of income.

Those residents whose incomes are over the guideline, may still use TRIPS transportation during those night hours, but will have to pay the going rates per trip. TRIPS rates are $1 for each trip to and from the destination for those living within Fremont City limits while those living in Ballville and Sandusky townships will have to pay $2 per trip to and from, and others in the county must pay $3 per trip.

Please call 419-332-8091 for information on this free transportation.
