Workshop to help seniors manage health

A Chronic Disease Self-Management Program will start this September in Fremont, offering strategies for area seniors to help manage chronic health issues.

This small-group program takes place Mondays, 9:30 a.m.-noon, Sept. 18 through Oct. 23 at The Commons at Little Bark Creek, the new senior housing development located at 750 Robin Lane in Fremont, located behind Stricker Family Development Center on South Buchanan Street. The workshop is free, but registration is required by calling 419-334-8181.

The six-week course will cover techniques for managing pain and fatigue; exercises for maintaining strength; appropriate medication usage; nutrition and other pertinent topics.

The program is provided by the Area Agency on Aging and is sponsored by St. Catherine’s Manor of Fostoria, Valley View, Bethesda Care Center, Heartland Hospice, Fisher Titus Home Health and WSOS Community Action Commission Food Services.
