Diabetes education classes starting at Fremont Senior Center

Simple lifestyle changes can produce big results for seniors with diabetes.

The Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) offers solutions for self-management, healthy eating, medication, and other concerns related to diabetes for seniors ages 60 and over. The weekly course takes place Mondays at 9:30 a.m. at Fremont Senior Center, Aug. 7-Sept. 11. There is no cost to join.

Courses are taught by certified diabetes self-management educators from the Area Office on Aging. Workshops are two hours each and are engaging and informative. Friends and family members of those with diabetes are encouraged to attend.

The Fremont Senior Center is located in Fort Stephenson Building, 600 W. State St.
