Private well owner workshop offered for Kelleys Island residents

What do you know about your well, and what can you do to protect your water? The upcoming Private Well Owner Workshop for Kelleys Island residents will answer these questions and more.

The workshop will take place 1-3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 at the Kelleys Island School Community Room
528 Division Street, and is free to anyone who wants to learn about private wells. The workshop covers information on local geology, types of wells, considerations for having and placing a well, well owners’ role in source water protection, key points for maintaining water quality, testing and more. Time will be available for questions and answers. Whether residents own a well or not, all are welcome to attend.

The workshop is offered by Great Lakes Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP), which is administered by WSOS Community Action Commission, in partnership with Erie County Health Department and Ground Water Science.
