Senior Care Fare returns to Clyde

The Senior Care Fare will return for its second year in Clyde 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 609 Vine St.

The Care Fare brings more than representatives from health organizations, legal practices, assisted living and nursing facilities, and many other senior organizations to share information about services available to local senior residents.

The event is free to all seniors and caretakers. Lunch will be available 11 a.m.-noon for $3.

The Care Fare will also include CarFit safety checks. Sponsored by AAA and WSOS, CarFit provides a professional review of seniors’ vehicles to verify that mirrors, seats and other automobile features are adjusted properly, and also offers other vehicle safety checks.

“CarFit is a great opportunity for senior drivers to make any adjustments to their vehicles that can give them a safer and more comfortable driving experience,” WSOS Mobility Coordinator Todd Robinson said.

Flu and pneumonia shots will also be available at the event at no cost to Medicare Part B subscribers, or $25 without Medicare Part B coverage.

All seniors and caregivers are encouraged to attend.
