Home sewage treatment monies available to Erie County residents

Homeowners in Erie County may be eligible to receive up to 100 percent of the cost of a home sewage treatment system repair or replacement.   

This program provides assistance to homeowners with old or problem systems, offering 50, 85 or 100 percent funding for the repair or replacement of a failing system based on their total household income. Rental properties are not eligible.

The Erie County General Health District received funding for targeted repair or replacements to any Erie County homeowner beginning Jan. 1, 2016. Residents of the following targeted areas will be given priority:

  • Sunnymeade Subdivision, Brunner Road, Vickery, Margaretta Township
  • Wilson Avenue, off Wahl Road, Vickery, Margaretta Township
  • Teal Drive, off Wahl Road, Vickery, Margaretta Township
  • Willow Avenue, Vickery, Whites Landing,  Margaretta Township
  • Sunset Avenue, Vickery, Whites Landing, Margaretta Township
  • Campbell Street, between Pipe Creek and Stoll Avenue, Sandusky, Perkins Township

The Erie County General Health District has contracted with WSOS Community Action Commission’s Sandusky River Watershed Specialist to administer this program to ensure applicant confidentiality and to assist homeowners throughout the process.  For an application or questions about the program, contact Cindy Brookes at 419-334-5016 or by email at cabrookes@wsos.org.
